My Typical Day
There never is a typical day! Meetings and answering emails are daily occurences.
What's the best part of your current job?
The variety, learning lots of new skills and working with lots of different people.
What's the best thing you've ever done in your career?
Previous career: publishing my research with one of my papers named publication of the year in that journal. This career: working on an outreach project which aims to bring science to those with disabilities or impairments.
What advice would you give someone who wants to be in the same career as you?
Get experience! I became a STEM Ambassador first then took up any opportunities that I could. Speak to people and pick their brains.
What do you see as your next step in your career?
I’ve only been in this job just over a year so still have lots to learn, once I have more experience that may give me an idea where I might wish to progress to next.
What other sorts of jobs can you do with your qualifications?
Work in a laboratory and teach would be the obvious two.
What don't you like about your current job?
Writing risk assessments for activities and events (they are very important but not the most fun thing to do)!
