I live in a city called Göttingen in Germany, but I am originally from Coventry in the UK. I travel often to Geneva for my research and I also travel to many places around the world to present my results at conferences. I like to experience the culture of the place I’m visiting, especially trying new food, visiting art galleries and museums, and taking photographs. I am a runner and have run the Paris marathon three times.
-
My Typical Day:
I can either be found in my laboratory testing the newest design of pixel detectors, in front of my computer writing new code to study the data, or in a meeting discussing our results with my colleagues.

My Interview
-
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Curious, happy, traveller.
What did you want to be after you left school?
An astronaut. (I still do!)
What don't you like about your current job?
There are always times why you will get frustrated with your job no matter what you do. Working on things that no one else knows means that sometimes you can get stuck (since there’s no where to look up the answer) but when you finally work it out, that can be the most satisfying feeling.
