My wife and I are both scientists. We live and work in Galway. I love going to gigs (when I can- Galway is fantastic for live music) and reading. Galway is also great for food!

My work is focused on both understanding changes in cells that make them become cancer and using this to learn new ways to attack cancer cells, with a new type of drug we have developed. My focus is on breast cancer, a very common from of cancer that affects almost everyone in someway.

My Typical Day:
I spend my time teaching undergraduates and my postgraduate research students and working in the lab, and reading/writing about cancer.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would bring school students to a sceintifc meeting and ask them to join in!
