      Hi Carmel

Great question! I always enjoyed different kinds of arts – like drawing, crafts, and performing arts. I used to make Christmas and birthday cards for people. I was never particularly good at drawing, but I enjoyed it! I remember going to an event once where a lady was teaching a class about making mosaics using little coloured tiles (you can buy mosaic tiles). You cut them up with tile cutters and you can make things like little mirrors, wall art, or coasters for mugs and teapots. I really liked that, and still have a mosaic kit but I don’t have much time to do it at the moment!

My main thing has always been performing arts. I was in a play in my local village when I was about 10. It wasn’t a main part but I really loved doing it. Then I joined an amateur dramatics society when I was about 14 and they put on regular concerts and shows.

I think people can start doing art any any age – and I think it’s a great thing to do! It can be very therapeutic and relaxing. The key is to find the particular thing you really enjoy (whether it’s painting or drawing or collages or performing or pottery or anything else!)

      Rose 🙂
