The average professorial salary is £75,000.
Look here: https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/Salaries/professor-salary-SRCH_KO0,9.htmBut there are variations. Salaries in London are higher, on average, but so are living/commuting costs. Medics are on a different (higher) salary scale from non-clinical academics (I am a non-clinical professor in a medical school).

Totally agree with Sam. Around £15k for a PhD studentship, then it gets upwards to £60k and beyond the more senior you get. There are solid payment schedules for lectureships which you can find here: https://www.ucu.org.uk/he_singlepayspine. Which spine you end up in is decided per-University if I understand it correctly.
