      Interesting question. In the UK all blood is donated by volunteers so there is no cash value for blood as it is processed and sent to hospitals by us. We are a sector of the NHS so no money is paid for this service by hospitals.

      However in other countries people are paid to donate blood and as they do not have a health service hospitals are charged to purchase the blood. I hope this answers your question.
