Getting started in Python isn’t too hard – if you understand scratch then you can just get stuck in with “hello world” examples, but accessing the full power of it can be quite tricky. I’m still learning the really powerful bits. That’s partly because python to make things easy for you to do, but I’m used to other languages (I’ve learnt more than 20 I guess) that make me work harder to achieve things and I’m not used to it.

Any computer language that is powerful enough for experts to do great things with quickly might take a bit of time to get good at – but python does scale well from school level to the top end of industry and research.
