At the moment I’m working on an electric assisted bicycle, so you pedal it but it also has a motor. My job on the project is to work out how to make the motor respond right so it helps you out the amount you want it to, it doesn’t surprise you. I use design skills to understand what the riders/users of the bicycle will need, and I make tests and prototypes to see if the ideas I come up with work well or not.
My job is based at the factory in London. I do my work both on the computer, and in the workshop making and testing ideas.
Does that help? Would you like more details about a part of the job, or a bit more of a typical day, something like that?
