I am a research scientist, living and working in Cambridge. I have a 15-year old cat called Harry who loves parma ham. Outside of my research, I spend a good amount of time at the gym – powerlifting. This is essentially where I pick up heavy things, put them back down again and do it again.
-
My Typical Day:
Feed the cat, then feed myself. Cycle to work, check on my growing cells before sitting down to a few meetings or running experiments in the lab, occassionally a little bit of teaching and finally a session at the gym picking up heavy things with my friends before I go to bed, ready to start again!
I do find the time to cook and even bake occasionally. -

Every day is a little bit of the same and a lot of the different! I usually spend a few months working out the answer to a research question that no one has successfully answered yet.  This means I’ll try to devise a set of experiments that will help me answer the question.. but it doesn’t always go to plan.
