There have been a few times. When I was doing my A levels I didn’t really enjoy chemistry because I didn’t get on with my teacher very well but when I got to university I really enjoyed it again.
I did chemistry at A-Level but then went on to do a Physics degree, I ended up doing a PhD in the chemistry dept, but didn’t do much hands on wet chemistry – mostly seeing what happened with lasers and surfaces.
Now I dabble a bit in chemistry, usually trying to grow and photograph interesting crystals
