      Hi cm17!

When I left university I started working at UKAEA. That stands for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. They’re a big company working to design fusion power plants.

At UKAEA there is something called a Graduate Scheme. This is a training program for people who have just left university. The UKAEA Graduate Scheme is two years long. I spend 4 days a week in a normal job helping to look after our big fusion experiments, and I spend 1 day a week developing myself. This can include all kind of things, I like to spend time talking to members of the public about science, training in the control room, and playing with lasers!
